Fulton, Missouri is the county seat of Callaway County, Missouri. Fulton is considered to be part of the Jefferson City Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fulton is most known for being the location of Winston Churchill’s famous “Sinews of Peace” speech, or, the Iron Curtain Speech being given in 1946. The speech was given at Westminster College. Fulton is also home to William Woods University, and was previously home to Synodical College, one of the earliest women’s colleges, Synodical opened in 1842 and closed in 1928.
