The crash occurred on October 30th, 2024, at 9:42 PM on US 54 at Route J. A 49-year-old woman was stationary on the side of the road after a previous crash. She was driving a 2014 Mazda CX-5 and facing west. Another vehicle, a 2017 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 61-year-old, was headed west as well, when they crashed into the Mazda. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Kendall’s Towing.
The driver of the Chevrolet was minorly injured and transported to the Capital Region Hospital by Callaway EMS. The 49-year-old driver of the Mazda was pronounced deceased at the scene and transported to the Boone County Medical Examiner’s office.
