Multi-vehicle crash on HWY 63

blog

A multi-vehicle collision on Tuesday morning disrupted traffic in the 900 block of Highway 54/63 eastbound, triggered by a metal shelf obstructing the road, as reported by the Jefferson City Police Department.

At approximately 8:15 a.m., a resident of Knoxville, Tennessee, was driving his Chevrolet Equinox along the highway when he braked to avoid collision with the shelf.

Behind the Equinox, a Rolla woman was driving her Kia Rio and also slowed down in response.

As the Kia decelerated, a Chevrolet Silverado operated by a Loose Creek woman collided with its rear.

This impact propelled the Kia into the passing lane, leading to a subsequent collision between the Silverado and the Equinox.

Fortunately, only minor injuries were sustained by those involved, and traffic was disrupted for about 50 minutes in the vicinity.

According to the police report, all individuals involved were properly restrained with seatbelts.
