Four people injured in a two-vehicle accident in Moniteau County

Four people were injured in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Monday night in Moniteau County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that a westbound 2009 Chevy Colorado, driven by 27-year-old Erik S. Blackwell of Russellville, was on Route A, two-tenths of a mile east of Barry Road just after 8 p.m., when the Chevy crossed the center of the roadway and struck an eastbound 1999 Honda Accord, driven by 31-year-old Emily B. Garrison of Russellville.

Blackwell suffered minor injuries, and was transported by ambulance to St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.

Emily Garrison suffered serious injuries, and was flown to University Hospital by MU Air Care.

Two of her passengers were also, injured, including 32-year-old Zachary R. Garrison, and a male infant. Both were taken to St. Mary’s by private vehicle. Zachary had moderate injuries, while the baby had serious injuries. The baby was wearing a safety device.

Blackwell was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, while Emily and Zachary Garrison were not, according to the report.

Both vehicles were totaled.
