A 38 year old Joplin, Missouri man received a $4,226,000.00 judgment against Wyandotte, Oklahoma business The Bunker Extreme d/b/a D-Day Adventure Park. The plaintiff was injured when an off-road vehicle went out of control and crashed into a group of pedestrians that were posing for a photo. One girl was killed while the plaintiff suffered a crushed pelvis and several other broken bones that left him severely injured for life. The plaintiff was life-flighted to Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Once there the on-call physician recognized the severity of the plaintiff’s injuries and ordered another life-flight to University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. The plaintiff stayed at University Hospital for several days and contemplated a trip to Rusk Rehabilitation in Columbia, Missouri for after care. Instead, the plaintiff chose to return home to Joplin where he was cared for by his family for the next three months until he could walk again. The plaintiff’s case went to trial on March 7, 2012 in Jasper County Circuit Court.
