Five people were injured Sunday night in a single-vehicle crash in Phelps County.
The crash happened around 11:14 p.m. on August 16, 2026, on County Road 3060, about one-quarter mile east of Rolla. A 2021 Chevrolet Silverado traveled off the right side of the roadway, struck a mailbox, and then struck a tree.
Three passengers suffered serious injuries, including a 17-year-old girl, a 20-year-old woman, and a 21-year-old man. Another passenger, an 18-year-old man, suffered minor injuries. The 18-year-old driver also suffered minor injuries. All five people were taken for medical treatment.
The Chevrolet Silverado was totaled and towed from the scene. The crash report states that none of the people in the vehicle were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash.
Passengers have rights when they are injured in a crash. They are not in control of the vehicle, and they should not be forced to suffer the consequences of a driver’s unsafe decisions without accountability.
