A motorcyclist was injured Thursday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Pettis County.
The crash happened around 9:01 p.m. on October 22, 2026, on U.S. 65 at Elm Hills Boulevard. A westbound 2016 GMC Acadia entered the path of a northbound 2020 Harley-Davidson Forty-Eight. The motorcycle struck the side of the GMC.
The 53-year-old motorcyclist suffered moderate injuries and was taken by EMS to a local hospital.
The motorcycle sustained moderate damage and was towed from the scene. The GMC sustained minor damage and was driven away. The report states that the motorcyclist was not wearing a safety device.
Motorcycle crashes can be especially dangerous because riders have little protection from the force of a collision. When a vehicle enters a motorcycle’s path, the rider may have little time to slow down or avoid the impact.
Drivers must carefully check for approaching motorcycles before entering or crossing traffic. Motorcycles are smaller than passenger vehicles and can be harder to notice, making a proper lookout especially important at intersections.
When a driver enters another motorist’s path and causes a crash, the injured person may have grounds to seek compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and other damages. Reviewing the vehicles’ movements, right-of-way, and available evidence can help determine responsibility for the collision.
