Ice Covered Roadway Causes Head on Collision in Marion County

At 3:30pm on Wednesday, February 17, a collision occurred on Missouri 168, 1.5 miles east of Palmyra, in Marion County, following snow and frozen precipitation. A 2017 Ford F-150, driven by a 68-year-old restrained female, slid on ice on the roadway, crossed the center line, and was struck by a 2013 Toyota Camry, driven by a 50-year-old restrained male, resulting in a head-on collision.

The Camry received extensive damage as a result of the crash and was towed from the scene by Parts Towing. The Ford F-150 also received extensive damage, and was towed by Heartland Towing. The driver of the Camry sustained moderate injuries, and was transported to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois, by Marion County Ambulance. The driver of the Ford truck sustained minor injuries, and was transported via Marion County Ambulance to Hannibal Regional Hospital.
