blog

At 4:15am on March 9th, a head on collision occurred on Missouri Highway 46, east of Hallmark Road and two miles west of Maryville. A 2003 Dodge 1500 was traveling westbound, when a 2017 Ford F-150 crossed the center line and struck the Dodge head on, despite the vehicle attempting to avoid the collision. It traveled off the north side of the road where it stopped after being hit. The Ford F-150 laid partially off the road to the left and stopped, where it blocked the westbound lane of MO 46. Both vehicles were totaled in the accident and removed from the scene by Kizer’s Towing.

The driver of the Dodge truck, a 24-year-old man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Nebraska Medical Center by Omaha Air Ambulance. He was not utilizing a safety device during the collision. The driver of the Ford F-150, a 31-year-old man suffered serious injuries at the time of the crash and was transported to Mosaic Life Care in Saint Joseph by Life Net. He was utilizing a safety device at the time. Unfortunately, the man’s injuries sustained in the collision proved to be fatal, and he passed away two days later.
