Franklin County Car Accident Seriously Injures Two

At 10:30pm on April 11th, Troopers responded to a car accident at Route AT and American Inn Road in Franklin County. A 2016 Jeep Renegade was traveling eastbound when a 2013 Kia Rio, traveling westbound, attempted to make a left turn and hit the Jeep. The front of the Jeep hit the front of the Kia and both cars were totaled in the accident. They were removed from the scene by Patriot Towing.

The driver of the Kia, 23-year-old man, sustained minor injuries, as did an occupant, also 23-year-old man. They were taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis, and Mercy Hospital Washington, respectively. A third occupant of the Kia, a 21-year-old male, sustained serious injuries, and was taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by Meramec Ambulance. He was the only one in that car not utilizing a safety device. The driver of the Jeep, a 36-year-old man, sustained serious injuries and was also taken to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by Meramec Ambulance. He was utilizing a safety device at the time of the collision.
