At 8:45pm on April 25th, a collision occurred on Missouri 7 at the Mile Long Bridge in Benton County. As a 2013 Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling north, a 2012 Dodge Avenger, traveling south, crossed into their lane and struck them head on, resulting in the Tahoe hitting the edge of the bridge and going into the water below.
The driver of the Avenger, a 44-year-old woman, sustained fatal injuries in the collision. She was pronounced deceased on the scene 10 minutes following the incident. The driver of the Tahoe, a 26-year-old man, was also pronounced deceased on the scene of the collision. Neither were utilizing safety devices in their vehicle.
