Two people were injured in a flatbed crash in Sedalia Missouri

The crash occurred at 7:07 am, on July 11th, 2024. Trace Alberswerth of Higginsville Missouri was driving a Peterbilt flatbed traveling westbound on W Broadway in Sedalia Missouri. The flatbed travelled off the right side of the road where it hit a street sign, a fire hydrant, and some fiber hardware before getting back on the road. The flatbed crossed the center line of W Broadway where it entered the path of a Ford Pickup Truck Driven by Ethan Jones. Alberswerth was hauling a load of decorative stones, which were ejected from the flatbed, one of them striking a Toyota Camry that was parked at 511 W Broadway. The flatbed continued south where it hit another parked vehicle, a Hyundai Elantra, at 509 W Broadway. Both the Peterbilt flatbed and the Hyundai continued moving forward into the home at 509 W Broadway. There was significant damage to the structure. There was also significant damage to the Hyundai Elantra, the Toyota Camry, and the Ford Pickup. Trace Alberswerth and Ethan Jones both sustained moderate injuries. Alberswerth was transported by PCAD to University Hospital in Columbia Missouri. Jones was transported to Bothwell Regional Health Center by PCAD.
