A Fulton man was killed in Callaway County Monday night after he was struck by a minivan.
Ray Payne, 67, was walking across Bluff Street near Meadowlark Lane around 6:30 p.m. when the van struck him,
Payne was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman driving the minivan, Shannon Walton, was not injured, the report said. She was wearing a seatbelt.
Drivers have a duty to drive safely to avoid causing injuries to pedestrians and others on the road.
Dealing with the death of a loved one is often one of the worst experiences an individual could endure.
