On the evening of November 16th, 2024, at around 5:30 pm, a pedestrian stepped into the path of oncoming traffic. The crash occurred in Johnson County, at MO Route 2, east of Chilhowee. The 71-year-old pedestrian was struck by a 2023 Ford Bronco heading east, also driven by a 71-year-old male. The driver of the vehicle was wearing a seat belt and, according to the crash report, was not injured. His vehicle had minor damage and was driven from the scene. Troop A responded to the scene.
The pedestrian from Holden, MO was transported by JCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center with serious injuries.
