On the eighth of December 2024 at 12:06 am, a fatal accident occurred in Audrain County. A pedestrian was walking westbound on US 54, about .1 mile east of Audrain Road 964 when a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee collided with the individual, resulting in the accident. The pedestrian was a 31-year-old male. The Jeep was driven by a 27-year-old male wearing a seatbelt and headed westbound. The Jeep was totaled and towed from the scene by A1 Towing.
The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene by EMS. He was then transported to Arnold Funeral Home. The driver of the Jeep Cherokee was uninjured according to the crash report. This is the 51st fatality of the year.
