The crash occurred on July 18th, 2024 at 8:05 PM in a residential area on Elston Road in Jefferson City, Missouri. 26-year-old Austin J. Kleindienst was travelling westbound in a 2001 Ford Ranger. Meanwhile, 87-year-old Emmit F. Coots Jr. was traveling eastbound in a 2017 Chevrolet 1500 and attempted to make a left turn into a driveway. The Ford Ranger then struck the front of the Chevrolet 1500, resulting in the crash. Austin J. Kleindienst sustained serious injuries and was transported by MU Air to University Hospital. Emmit F. Coots Jr. sustained minor injuries and was transported via ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center. Neither driver was wearing a safety device at the time of the accident. Both vehicles were totaled; the 2001 Ford Ranger was then towed by Harrison’s Towing while the 2017 Chevrolet 1500 was towed by Toebben’s Towing.
