The crash occurred on July 27th, 2024, at 10:47 PM. 45-year-old Grant N. Petree was driving a 2023 Honda ATV eastbound on Tuttle Road east of Sandbank Drive. The crash occurred as Petree failed to negotiate a turn and travelled off the right side of the roadway where the ATV overturned. Grant Petree sustained serious injuries and was transported by MU Aar to University Hospital Columbia Missouri. 30-year-old Timothy M. Brink was riding as a passenger in the ATV. Brink sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Cooper County EMS to University Hospital in Columbia Missouri. There was extensive damage to the ATV, and it was towed from the scene by Leeper Auto Repair.

Offroad vehicles like the Honda ATV can be extremely dangerous, especially when they are driven on roadways that are typically occupied by larger high-speed vehicles. Individuals are also not required to carry liability insurance for these vehicles, which complicates the recovery process when crashes do happen. Because of this, it’s important to seek out the guidance of an experienced personal injury attorney. One potential avenue for recovery is a product liability claim against the manufacturer of the vehicle.
