The crash occurred on September 3rd, 2024, around 7:02PM on US Highway 65 at Rebar Road. 62-year-old Charles M. Lawson was driving northbound in a 1991 Chevrolet 1500. Meanwhile, 21-year-old David V. Cosurco was travelling southbound in a 2008 Chevrolet Suburban when they failed to stop at a red light. This caused Coscuro’s Chevrolet Suburban to collide with Lawson’s Chevrolet 1500. After the impact, David Cosurco and their vehicle travelled off the right side of the roadway before striking a light pole. Charles Lawson sustained serious injuries and was transported to Bothwell Hospital via EMS while David Cosurco was uninjured. Both drivers were wearing safety devices at the time. Both vehicles were extensively damaged; the 2008 Chevrolet Suburban was towed by private tow and the 1991 Chevrolet 1500 was towed by State Fair Tow, Sedalia.
