The crash occurred on August 7th, 2024, at 9:33 PM near mile marker 168. 54-year-old Thomas J. Goin was travelling Eastbound in a 2016 Freightliner Cascadia. In the adjacent lane, 27-year-old Clayton S. Hulme was driving a 2008 Ford F250 when they crossed the center of the roadway and struck the towed trailer of Thomas Goin’s vehicle. This caused Clayton Hulme and the Ford F250 to skid off the left side of the roadway, striking several median cable posts before coming to a rest on its top along the left shoulder. Clayton S. Hulme was pronounced dead on the scene by examiner Stacey Huck. Both drivers were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash. The 2008 Ford F250 was totaled, and the tractor-trailer sustained moderate damage. Both vehicles were towed by Economy Towing.
