The crash occurred on August 3rd, 2024, at 6:00 PM. 25-year-old Drew A. Davis was operating a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado headed South bound on Old Concord Rd south of 8179 Old Concord. 70-year-old James B. O’Neal was driving a 2003 Ford ranger headed northbound. Both vehicles travelled down the center of the roadway and struck each other head on. The vehicles came to a rest blocking the roadway and then became engulfed in flames. James B. O’Neal was pronounced dead on the scene by Chris Howard. Drew A. Davis sustained moderate injuries but refused treatment at the scene of the crash. Both vehicles were totaled in the crash and were towed from the scene by Nash Towing. Drew A. Davis was uninsured, and James B. O’Neal had Auto-Owners insurance on his vehicle.
