The crash occurred on September 14th, 2024, at 6:47 PM on Southwest 101 Road, south of Southwest 625 Road. 32-year-old Karina S. Mitchell was travelling northbound in a 2006 Volkswagen Touareg as they were traveling up a hill in the road. Meanwhile, 36-year-old William C. Larrison was stopped facing northbound on the roadway in a 1997 GMC 3500. As Karina Mitchell crested the hill, their vehicle impacted with the rear of William Larrison’s vehicle, causing the crash. Karina Mitchell was moderately injured and was taken to Western Missouri Medical Center via private conveyance, while William Larrison was not injured. Neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. The Volkswagen Touareg was totaled and towed by a private party; the GMC 3500 sustained minor damage and was driven from the scene. Neither vehicle was covered by insurance.
