The crash occurred on August 28th, 2024, at 6:55 PM on MO Highway 52 at Twiggy Lane. 27-year-old Joshua L. Saylor was operating a 2009 Harley Davidson headed eastbound. Meanwhile, 66-year-old Larry L. Brown was driving a 2012 Chevrolet 2500, making a left turn westbound. As Brown turned their vehicle, they drove into the path of Saylor on their motorcycle. This caused the Harley Davidson to strike the right rear side of the Chevrolet 2500, resulting in both Saylor being ejected from the vehicle and the motorcycle overturning. Joshua Saylor received moderate injuries and was taken to Lake Regional Hospital via Private Conveyance, while Larry Brown was uninjured. Both drivers were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash. The 2009 Harley Davidson sustained extensive damage and was towed by Woods Towing. The 2012 Chevrolet 2500 sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
Motorcycles are uncommon on the road, making up only about 3% of all registered vehicles in the United States (National Safety Council 2022). However, due to the relatively low safety compared to other vehicles on the road, motorcyclists account for a disproportionate number of fatalities and injuries every year. When you’re involved in a motorcycle crash, it can become challenging and tiring to deal with insurance claims, medical expenses, and loss of income. An experienced personal injury attorney can help alleviate some of the pressures surrounding an accident, allowing you to focus on getting better.
