Intersection crash leaves one moderately injured in Monroe County Missouri

The crash occurred on September 13th, 2024, at 8:15 AM at Highway M and Highway C, approximately 8 miles southwest of Paris, Missouri. 55-year-old Randy S. Myers was driving a 2017 Ford F150 eastbound. At the same time, 19-year-old Ahna I. Sinclair was driving southbound in a 2006 Subaru when they failed to stop at the intersection. This caused the Subaru to impact with the driver’s side of the Ford F150. Randy Myers was moderately injured and was transported to Moberly Regional Hospital via Monroe County Ambulance, while Ahna Sinclair was uninjured. The Ford F150 was extensively damaged and towed by Prathers Towing – Cairo. The Subaru was totaled and left at the scene to be removed by the owner.

While there is consistent effort made to improve the safety of intersections, these contested areas are still hotspots for traffic accidents. This is especially true of unsignalized intersections, which account for the majority of traffic fatalities (U.S. DoT Federal Highway Administration, 2022). The aftermath of a crash can result in a lot of stress from trying to manage expenses and work with insurance companies, not to mention attempting to recuperate.
