Failure to Yield Results in Car Crash

On the morning of December 4th, 2024 at 7:42 am a failure to yield resulted in a car accident in Johnson County. The crash occurred on MO 2 Highway at SE 301. A 2020 Peterbilt 18-wheeler headed northbound failed to stop at an intersection and struck a 2018 Chevrolet on its driver’s side as it traveled westbound. The Peterbilt was driven by a 44-year-old male and the Chevrolet was driven by a 65-year-old male. Both individuals were wearing safety devices. The Chevrolet was totaled and towed by Tip Top Towing, while the Peterbilt was extensively damaged and towed by Dons Truck Towing.

The 65-year-old driver was moderately injured and transported to the Western MO Medical Center by JCAD. No injuries were listed for the other driver.
