blog

On the evening of December 25th, 2024, at roughly 5:00 pm, a failure to yield resulted in serious injuries on US Highway 54 at Old Bass Road. A 2020 Kia Forte attempted to cross into the westbound lanes of US Highway 54 and instead crossed into the path of a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Sierra.

The Kia was driven by a 20-year-old male wearing a seatbelt. The driver had two male occupants in the car with him. One was seriously injured and the other experienced minor injuries. The driver was moderately injured. The Oldsmobile was driven by a 35-year-old male with four occupants. The driver was seriously injured. The occupants included an unidentified and minorly injured adult, a male with minor injuries, a 21-year-old female with serious injuries, and a moderately injured 6-year-old boy. All injured parties were transported to the University Hospital in Columbia, MO by ambulance.

Failure to yield is one of the leading causes of car accidents. Car accidents are already difficult situations, and those complications only grow when injuries are involved.
