Driver Asleep at the Wheel Causes Car Accident in Montgomery County

At 5:50 pm, on December 23rd, 2024, a 26-year-old female driver fell asleep at the wheel of a 2005 Toyota Avalon. The Toyota overcorrected and crossed into the center of the roadway, where it impacted the driver’s side of a 2011 Chevrolet HHR. The 26-year-old driver of the Chevrolet attempted to avoid the Toyota but was unsuccessful. After impact, the Toyota veered off the left side of the road and flipped over.

The driver of the Toyota was minorly injured and transported to Mercy Washington by Hermann EMS. The driver of the Chevrolet and the 58-year-old male passenger were both moderately injured and transported to Mercy Washington via Hermann EMS. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Hagedorn.
