On August 24th, 2024, around 10:05 AM, 49-year-old Danielle J. Vanderlaan was left moderately injured after a boating accident near the main channel 25-mile mark at the Lake of the Ozarks in Camden County Missouri. The incident occurred as 51-year-old Martin A. Bowker was operating a Sonic 36SS when they impacted a wake. This caused Danielle Vanderlaan, a passenger, to be lifted in the air before falling and landing on the floor of the boat. Vanderlaan sustained moderate injuries and was transported via ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. They were not wearing a safety device at the time. Bowker was uninjured, and the undamaged boat was driven from the scene.
