Two women injured semi crash in Saline County

On June 17th, 2024, there was a three-vehicle crash on Missouri Highway 240 at Missouri Route P at around 12:40pm. 18-year-old Autum Gier was driving southbound in her 1998 Honda Accord when she slowed for traffic. 37-year-old Trent P. Templeton was operating a 1997 Freightliner behind her and was unable to stop in time and struck the rear of the Honda Accord. The Freightliner jackknifed across both sides of the highway where it was struck by a 2008 Ford Ranger, operated by 21-year-old Miranda J. Cooper. Trent Templeton was uninjured but both Autumn Gier and Miranda Cooper sustained injuries. Miranda was seriously injured and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia by Life Flight. Autumn was transported to Fitzgibbons hospital by Saline County EMS.
