Around 7:00am on April 17th, an accident involving three cars took place on US 54 Westbound near Katelyn Drive in Miller County. A 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt hydroplaned and veered off the right side of the roadway, and eventually getting back on the road. After returning to the road, they crossed the center line and collided with a 2021 Chrysler Pacifica traveling eastbound, which ran off the right side of the road. The Cobalt crossed the center line again, causing a third vehicle, a 1993 Oldsmobile 98, to rear-end it. The Cobalt was totaled in the collision. The Pacifica received extensive damage, and both were towed from the scene by Champion Towing. The Oldsmobile received minor damage and was driven off.
The driver of the Cobalt, a 29-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries in the collision. She was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City by Miller County Ambulance. The driver of the Pacifica, a 54-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries, and was taken by Miller County Ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. Both women were utilizing safety devices at the time of the incident.
