Two people were seriously injured Saturday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Gasconade County.
The crash happened around 8:25 p.m. on July 11, 2026, at 2101 U.S. 50. A 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek was stopped in the roadway when a 1999 Ford Ranger struck the rear of the Subaru.
Two passengers in the Subaru, ages 25 and 29, suffered serious injuries. Both were taken by EMS to a local hospital.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene. The crash report states that both drivers and both injured passengers were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash.
A stopped vehicle in the roadway can create a serious hazard, but drivers approaching from behind still have a responsibility to watch the road ahead, control their speed, and react safely to traffic conditions. Rear-end crashes can be especially dangerous when the struck vehicle has no room to move out of the way or avoid the impact.
