Egregious Hit-and-Run in St. Louis County Causes Serious Crash on I-255

blog

At 8:10am on April 28th, a driver’s morning commute was interrupted by a serious collision with an unknown black SUV. The collision occurred on Interstate 255 at Missouri 231 in St. Louis County, Missouri. A Ford truck was traveling eastbound, when it was hit on its left-rear side by the unknown SUV, and the truck proceeded off the left side of the roadway, striking the median multiple times. The SUV fled the scene.

Leaving the scene of an accident is a crime in Missouri, with the severity of the penalty increasing with the damage caused and left behind, and is potentially a felony offense. Driving while distracted is also an offense punishable by jail time, carrying the charge of Careless & Imprudent Driving. It is imperative that we, as drivers, follow all the laws, and we take a stand against those who fail to. A vehicle fleeing the scene of an accident it caused is inexcusable behavior that deserves punishment.
