Around 5:20am on Friday, June 6th, State Troopers responded to a major car collision that resulted in several serious injuries in Washington County, Missouri. As a Chevrolet Blazer was traveling northbound on Highway 21, north of Pintail Road, they were slammed into, head on, by a 2013 Chrysler 200. The driver of the Chrysler, a 32-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries in the collision, as well as seriously injuring another occupant in her vehicle and the driver of the Chevy Blazer. All were taken to a local hospital by Washington County Ambulance.
Preliminary details suggest that the Chrysler 200 crossed the centerline, directly into the path of oncoming traffic. The violent impact left both vehicles heavily damaged and temporarily shut down the roadway during the morning commute. Incidents like this reinforce how important it is to remain attentive, alert, and in full control behind the wheel, especially during early morning hours when fatigue or distraction may be heightened. In Missouri, crossing the centerline in such a manner often results in a charge of Careless and Imprudent Driving, a serious offense that carries criminal consequences when it leads to injuries. Luckily, we have law enforcement officers that vow to fight this egregious behavior and hold those that ignore the law accountable.
