Ten minutes before 4pm on May 10th, a serious crash occurred at the intersection of Route O and Route FF in Lafayette County. As a 2003 Yamaha was traveling northbound on Route O, another vehicle, a 2022 Toyota Tundra, was attempting to cross over the road and pulled into the path of the Yamaha. The bike, as a result, collided with the door of the truck. The driver of the Yamaha, a 20-year-old man, was taken to the hospital via Life Flight.
Operating a vehicle, especially a motorcycle or dirt bike, requires the upmost attention to be paid to ensure everyone’s safety. Careless and Imprudent Driving is a serious criminal charge that may be slapped onto individuals who caused accidents and were negligent in doing so. It may also entail being distracted while driving, rolling through stop signs, or failing to yield. Missouri law enforcement does an excellent job of ensuring all drivers adhere to traffic laws designed to keep us safe, and removes drivers from the roads who fail to do so. Committing a traffic offense that injures oneself or others is a serious matter that deserves to be punished as the laws are to be followed to ensure all vehicles’ safety.
