blog

The crash occurred on August 30th, 2024, at 10:35 AM on US 63 at Wrens Farm Road. 55-year-old Heidi L. Powers was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Equinox with 82-year-old Ruth E. Blakely heading southbound. Meanwhile, 37-year-old Terrance E. McCarey was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala with 39-year-old Amber D. Allen and a one-year-old juvenile heading eastbound. Heidi Powers’ view was obstructed by a dump truck that was making a right-hand turn. Powers then failed to yield, causing her to pull into the path of the Chevrolet Impala and causing the crash. Both vehicles came to rest upright in the median. From the Impala, Terrance McCarey and the one-year-old passenger both sustained minor injuries, while Amber Allen sustained moderate injuries. All three occupants were taken to Capital Region Hospital by ambulance. Both passengers from the Equinox, Heidi Powers and Ruth Blakely, sustained moderate injuries and were transported to University Hospital by ambulance. All injured parties were wearing safety devices at the time of the crash. Both vehicles were totaled; the 2008 Chevrolet Impala was towed via Toebbens Towing and the 2018 Chevrolet Equinox was towed via Kendall’s Towing.
